THE PROBLEM WITH STONING A WITCH (Tindall)

When I was a child I had a wicked disease
My legs could hardly walk and my eyes could barely see
The village thought that there might be a chance to turn things round
So, they called upon a shaman from the outer parts of town
It didn’t take long before the fixers had agreed
That they had only heard of things like these, but never seen
The strangest thing happened as I touched the healers cheek
I felt a little stronger as he fell down at my feet

We’re not gonna take it anymore
We’re not gonna take it anymore
If there’s a witch in your town you gotta stone her to the ground
She’s not gonna take our babies, oh no

I walked a little further into town with every day
I tore the old door down and hung the Shaman in it’s place
I didn't know then about the things that I would learn
On the day that I was born there was a spell cast on the world
Now with every fishbone that I’d hook against a home
I felt a little stronger, and I grew a little more
But the city wore smiles, when I’d come darken their doors
They had started hearing things and they knew I wanted more

Well, many dark days have been written on this page,
but you’ll never know something till you live it for a day
The guards are looking strong and the whole city has come
to ask me about the things that they all know I have done
and when you ask my mother about what her daughters done
she’s right to tell you all the things about what I’ve become
and as we stand here, you may just think you’ve won
but the evil that I see, may be the evil you become
